My mother’s first reaction to my phone call about the engagement was “what did you respond?” so last week’s phone call came as less of a surprise when she was stunned that the betrothed’s family had given us presents for our engagement, which she called a rather “in-official” seeming event.

I have actively tried to pay attention to wedding dresses. I figured that this is the season in which I will be getting married next year and therefore I should look around what a ‘spring bride’ should wear. But somehow I can’t wrap my head around it yet. I may lose out on so many other great options, if I make that decision hastily.

How I wish somebody would sketch a dress for me. Maybe that would make the decision easier.
